Meet your Speaker! Course Description Perimenopause/Menopause: From Chaos to Clarity Rhonda Jolliffe, DNP, FNP-BC, CTNC
After 8 years as a nurse, I decided to return to graduate school to pursue a Nurse Practitioner degree. During my graduate program, a guest lecturer spoke on “Homeopathy”. Lightning struck. It was at that moment she said some things that forever changed the way I thought. My world in medicine as I knew it, was never the same. I started studying Holistic and Integrative Medicine. It became my passion and it didn’t take long to realize for me, this was how I wanted to practice. I felt this was the BEST MEDICINE. I transitioned to the study of Functional Medicine. Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease. It uses a systems-oriented approach. This approach engages both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine. It addresses true healthcare needs of the 21st century and I knew my patients could benefit from this process. Today, Functional Medicine is the foundation of my practice. My private practice of 20 years thrives because my patients search for answers. The patients that enter my clinic look for empowerment to take care of their own health. They don’t want to rely on medications to band aide a problem. My patients are smart!
