Body Balancing Techniques & Primitive Reflexes in Labor

The presentation will go over uterine ligament anatomy and how dysfunction the ligaments can affect fetal position. Balancing of the pelvis to help correct the imbalances will be shown. A review of how the primitive reflexes; asymmetric tonic neck reflex, Galant reflex, Perez reflex and Placing reflex, play a roll in childbirth. 

Hour 1: Overview of pregnant uterus and ligaments. Body Balancing Techniques during pregnancy: sacral release, side lying release and inversion. 

Hour 2: Describe and show the four primitive reflexes involved in childbirth. Also, how in utero constraint can affect those reflexes and the duration and outcome of labour and delivery. 


Bio

Dr. Rosemary Schiavi is a licensed chiropractic physician.  She is a cum laude graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN where she earned her doctorate degree in chiropractic medicine.  Dr. Schiavi has also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in viology from UW-Parkside in Kenosha, WI.  She has been in clinical practice since 2004.  Dr. Schiavi has completed additional post-graduate training in pediatrics, pregnancy, cranio-sacral technique, kinesiotaping and nutritional counseling. She is certified in Webster technique and Graston technique and has completed her diplomate in pediatric care.
